Nurturing the Mother (R) Wise Woman Menopause Massage (14 CEs, Saturday & Sunday)

Supplies Needed – Massage Table (this is hands on course), 1 set of sheets (attendee is using them, may use 2 days in a row), 3 pillows, 1 small towel, castor oil, hot water bottle or other heat source, 1 flannel pillowcase or cloth that can be folded over 2-4 times for castor oil pack [for sale in class kit $35(includes Castor oil, flannel, and hot water bottle)]
Class is a delightful, fun and informative workshop to learn techniques and protocol for therapeutic massage in support of the powerful life changes a woman experiences in her peri-menopause, menopause and post-menopausal stages. This course will support the massage therapist in educating the client, along with addressing her areas of concern that may have largely been overlooked by most healthcare practitioners. Marketing has shown that women age 45-65 are the highest population receiving massage therapy. It is time to give them the focused massage they deserve.

Our passion and our journey are inextricably linked. Passion is the energy that fuels our journey. To have a fully involved journey, we must know what SPARKs our journey and how to keep it burning. We all have demands coming at us from all directions. How we negotiate the demands impacts our effectiveness as therapists and in our lives in general. In this very interactive class, we will explore what SPARKS our passions and identify ways we can successfully maintain our fire!

Though it appears to happen almost automatically, what informs our ethical decisions is a complex application of personal and professional beliefs and values utilized in the assessment of the situation at hand. While having written codes help us to define appropriate behavior in specific ethical situations, success is in understanding and knowing the path to ethical decision making. This fresh, interactive class presents the code of ethics in the context of ethical theory and discusses the considerations within the various ethical categories.

TMJD It Aint All in Your Head! (8 CEs, Sunday 8am – 5pm)

Supplies Needed – Students before class please review head, anterior-lateral neck, jaw, muscles of mastication. Be prepared to undress for full body massage application. Massage tables will be needed in class, a set of linens, oil/lotion and non latex gloves.
Sink your teeth into this hands-on class that presents the treatment of TMJ-related pain and tension from a holistic perspective. We will review and address relevant cranial and anterolateral neck muscles as well as the specific muscles of mastication. In addition, we will explore the fascial lines with emphasis to the pelvic girdle, diaphragm and iliopsoas. After receiving the applications presented in this class, your clients will experience jaw-dropping session results.
